Sympathy Dreams

So, the book, "What to Expect When You're Expecting" states that husbands may experience symptoms similar like those of their pregnant wives, sympathy pains, so to speak. I've been checking in periodically with Todd to see if he has a sore back, sore feet, etc. Usually, there has been nothing on his end.

However... last week he dreamed that he was pregnant. He was several months behind me, so we were going to end up with two kids about three months apart in age. He wasn't huge yet, just had the little bump. Sadly, he doesn't remember many more details, but we will take what we can get. He hardly ever remembers his dreams at all, so this was quite the special occasion.

Speaking of bumps, my baby loves to move these days, and her favorite spot is right below my right rib. I think I have internal bruising. Seriously, there's tons more space in there to explore - why does she always poke and prod at this same spot? It's been weeks now!

(I try to complain, but truly I love every single movement. It is my favorite part of being pregnant. I love to feel this little girl inside me.)

that is so funny about Todd's dream! haha! Dang, you could have had irish twins....and it is fun to feel movement that isn't your own huh? You're going to be a great mom!

Glad it was just a dream! :-) Have you seen that guy (who was once a girl) who is pregnant? Not okay!

So fun to be feeling the baby so much, and from the last picture you were hardly even big, so I doubt that there is a TON more room for that baby to be...after she is born you will see her do things with her arms and legs and you will think "that is exactly what you were doing inside!" So fun!

having them move makes it feel much more real, doesn't it. i can't wait to be able to feel this one move more often.

SO fun to think of you pregnant! I am truly happy for you! However, I would be a bit concerned if Todd were pregnant - I know a "man" just delivered a baby not too long ago, but that is just plain wrong!

this is unrelated to your post, but i had to tell you that the other day i had a pot roast thawing and forgot to put it in the crock pot in the morning. so i thought about what i would do with it and then thought of your super yummy beef stew. so i cut up my pot roast in little stew-like chunks and cooked it up a-al-bonners and it was AMAZING!!! it was tender and flavorful and only took two hours instead of six-ten. i don't think i'll ever do a crock pot pot roast again. thanks for sharing your recipe.

Ha ha, Jake gained weight with me.

And yes, I'm bringing Amaryllis with me next week (we are still sort of attached these days...if you know what I mean. I wouldn't dare say the word BREASTFEEDING on your blog. oops). We're excited to see you! Can't wait for your baby shower.

I loved feeling Gracie moving around inside and she never did stop. I swear she was doing flips and all sorts of gymnastics.
Too fun!

Haha!! That is so funny! I can just picture Todd with this little baby bump, holding his back. You guys crack me up! And how are you two? I hope the little one starts exploring soon so you don't have bruised insides. Have you guys decided on a name yet?

We and the Wikle's miss you guys!

How funny! That's sweet that Todd is so mindful of you that he would have a dream like that.

Oh my gosh. The sympathy thing is 100% true. Last time I was pregnant, Travis complained of everything from nausea to back-aches to weight gain. He kept trying to get ME to give HIM massages... I was like, "Hey I appreciate the sympathy, but come on..." The cherry on the cake was when he passed out at Brooklyn's birth. Boys... they have to make everything about them! (PS This is Krista not Travis)
