Easter Weekend
Jack loves to hold his head up. He'll keep it up for, seriously, a ten minute stretch when he does tummy time. He holds it up while he sits in his car seat. He is strong and he loves to show that off.
Todd didn't go up to Sacramento to fly this past Thursday (he usually does), and instead of going in to work, we made a family day out of it and went to the San Francisco Zoo. It's made the whole week feel like a vacation (which was so nice after him being gone Friday through Sunday last weekend).
Hazel was in heaven the entire day. She especially loved seeing the giraffes, tigers, and penguins.
Saturday was our ward's Easter Egg Hunt.
It was held at a mini golf course. This was Hazel's most spectacular find:
We've been playing Egg Hunt at home all week with empty eggs. After the ward party yesterday, Hazel's focus quickly shifted from finding eggs!!! to candy.candy.candy. This morning when she hunted for eggs at home, she opened each one as soon as she found it and stuffed her face. Good thing I only filled them up with fruit loops, teddy grahams, and raisins.
We tried a new technique with boiled eggs. Did you know you can color them with crayons while they're hot and the wax melts right onto them? They look really cool and it was both easy and relatively mess-free.
Before church we drove to a field of flowers and tried a photo shoot. It was mostly unsuccessful. Hazel was pouting about standing in the dirt and poky flowers and there was nowhere to prop the camera to get a whole-family shot, but I like this one well enough.
Happy Easter!

Aw, love that 2 kid shot!
I love your egg idea, we'll have to try that next year!
And, your Easter photo shoot seemed similar to ours. At least you had pretty flowers on the background. :)
wow--you guys have been busy. so fun to have family come to visit. i think jack looks so much like you. where did you find those yellow flowers?
Jamie, it was off 680 along Mission Boulevard. It's a spot Todd had noticed driving between here and Sacramento. We're still wondering if it was worth it to pack a lunch and drive 20 minutes to get there, instead of just taking pics at the park next door. ;)
