My favorite features so far are:
1. Automatic sliding doors - they open with just a push of a button, and no worries about Hazel bumping the cars we park next to. It is so nice to open the doors with the buttons on the key while I"m holding Jack and a trillion other things at the same time.
2. Sunroof! I was disappointed to realize how often the sun is glaring right overhead and I choose to keep it closed, but when it is open, Hazel and I pretend we're in a convertible and bask in the extra light and the overhead view.
3. There's a USB port in the glove box that I keep my iPod plugged into. All my favorite music, with me all the time. Divine. Also, it has memory space to burn 16 CDs so I can store all our favorite songs and easily meet Hazel's request for "Poor Unfortunate Souls" without having to take CDs in and out while driving. I love it!!!
Now you're probably wondering the same thing that all our neighbors were, and if so, you are correct. I am pregnant! Baby #3 is expected to arrive in early January and we are both thrilled and scared.
I had no idea this photo I texted to Todd was so shiny and bad until tonight. Oh well. |
Speaking of exercising, I was working my tail off January through April. I was attending a boot camp workout class four mornings a week and finally got over my hatred of sweating. It started feeling good to work hard! I was just starting to make some real progress. Then I got pregnant and started feeling sick and fatigued and totally lost my mojo lying on the couch all the time.
Then they announced at church that there's going to be a Stake Relief Society/Young Women's 5K in September and I decided I want to do it. Now that I'm starting to feel better I'm trying to run three times a week. Am I crazy to try to do my very first 5K five months pregnant? I figure I can always walk instead of run if I really can't do it, but I'd like to try.
In other news, we drove to Utah the last weekend in June to attend Todd's sister Kelsi's wedding. (Congrats again Kelsi and David!) Hazel had just barely earned Peter Pan from completing a goal-oriented sticker chart and was so excited to watch it on the drive. I love the enraptured look in her eyes. She totally loved it.
The drive was long and rough, but totally worth it, if only to snatch these darling pictures of the kids sleeping. Melt my heart!
After the parade we played at the beach for a while, grabbed some fresh fish for lunch, then drove home. That night we watched fireworks and lit some of our own with our friends the Naseaths. Hazel called it "the best day ever."

Wohoo!!! Congrats on the baby!! As for the 5K I admire you! I understand the whole being sick thing too I am just starting to get energy back - so much so that I was able to actually clean the house today deep clean not just put things away!!! Maybe I will sign up for a 5K...all I know is I am not going on the 10 mile hike for girls camp in August...
Wow! Congratulations! I am so happy for all of you to be adding to your cute family! All of our love!
Yay! Yay! Yay! So, excited for you, but not about the mini van part. ;) Now I really need to call you.
What a cute mini van shot. They are AWESOME! We really do need to line up all of the grey ones in our ward one Sunday - there's about 7. ha.
And what a fun parade on the 4th! I'm totally going up there next year. We just stayed around here in the morning until a bbq with work friends, but a parade would have been so fun!
And, I keep meaning to call you and see if you want to walk in the mornings. I would LOVE to have company and I always walk faster/farther when I'm chatting away with friends. :)
congrats!! i signed up for the disneyland 5k back before i got pg and i'm determined to do it at 27 wks lol. i was so in shape before getting pg, going to the gym 6 days a week, then i lost it all in the first 3 months. i tried to walk on the treadmill, but that didn't last. i hope i make it...and you do too! :)
YEAH!! So excited for you guys!! No problems this time? I can't even think about doing anything from about 6-20 weeks along...way to go to still exercise. Looks like life treats you well. We are so happy.
Congrats to your two new additions. The Car and BABY #3!!!! I am so excited for you. My first thought when I saw your blog title was oh a new baby yeah and then I saw the car and thought that was awesome too. Then I scrolled down and read more...You always have a great way of announcing big news and trying to trick us all. To cute! I am so excited for you three is crazy but so much fun!
Congrats on #3 and the van - our dream car is an Odyssey. Thrilled for you on both accounts!
Congrats on baby #3 on the way! Such a big step...well, it seems that way to me at least. Go for the 5K! You can do it!
I realize I'm giving this comment a little late, but I'm giving it anyway (aren't I nice?)
Sometimes I think that a drawback of living in the bay area is our kids get constantly compared to all the babies of asian heritage...which are all 4-6, maybe 7, pounds. Do you ever see Tongans give birth to 6 lb babies? How about Germans? Norwegians? NEVER. If doctors went by actual ethnicity growth charts instead of averaged mixed population growth charts, they'd see that some people are predisposed to have naturally larger babies without comorbid conditions, such as gest. diabetes. I say you should just let your body do its thing as long as you're also making sure your diet is healthy & not fat/oil/salt saturated. This reminds me of one of my coworker's mother, who was told to diet during pregnancy since she was gaining too much weight. Then she gave birth & lo & behold two babies came out...not one. Doctors don't know everything.
Ok, I'm off my soapbox now.
