We have another piece of rather large news to divulge. However, this news is not so exciting, quite the opposite. We finish up flight school here in Alabama in about a month, after which we were planning on returning to California. Well, we're not; at least not for another year. Looks like I'll be heading to Afghanistan and Angie will be moving to Utah coming this August. I'll be doing some training in Oklahoma from October-December; so hopefully I'll be able to come home for the baby's birth around 1 December. Then December to October-ish overseas. We're looking forward to having a baby, but not so much this time apart. I'm sure Angie will get lots of help from family and friends as she learns to take care of a new baby, so thanks in advance.I'm sure that everyone has varying opinions about the war, but I for one believe that all men (not just Americans) "are created equal" and are "endowed by their creator with certain unailiable rights." I am proud to be able to stand up for the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of others, irregardless of nationality. Proud to stand up against those that champion fear and anarchy.
The war hasn't gone as well as planned. War never does. It's easy to sit back and second guess other's decisions; they should've done this or that, etc. However, all too often this criticism comes from those unwilling to DO anything but offer criticism, and suggest inaction was and is the best course of action , that "someone else" should take care of the problem.
Looks like that someone else is me, and I'll be proud to do it.

I'm a little taken aback here - Todd Floyd, I wish you didn't have to go, but I'm glad you're willing and feel so strongly that it's right. Angie, I'm so glad you'll be in Utah! Our babies can be friends!

I love your post!!! I have to say that we are always trying to remember those that are sacrificing their lives and families for us. Thank you so much for all you do. We are constantly praying for you.

Todd, I'm so lucky to be able to call you my big brother. I have to say that I've looked up to you for as long as I can remember. You've always been such a good example, and I know for a fact that it's because of your example I've turned into who I am. And I for one completely agree with your opinion. It's what I've been saying for a while, that criticizing should be followed by an action that changes it, not just by more talking, but a lot of people don't understand....I think criticizing is just a fad that people go through, like bell bottoms and side bangs, it's in one minute and not cool the next. Let's hope this fad ends soon.
Good luck Toad and we will do whatever we can to help Angie. We'll all keep you in our prayers and in our hearts, at least, I know you'll always be on my mind, and in my heart along with a prayer for your safety.

Wow! What an awesome sacrifice you are making...we will be praying for you, Angie, and your baby. We hope that you will be able to head to Utah in December for the birth. I know it will be hard to be apart, but I'm sure that your wife and little girl will be so proud of what you are doing. We ditto what everyone else said about being thankful for people like you that are willing to serve and defend our country.
I have to admit that tears came to my eyes as I read this post! I am grateful that there are people in this world like both of you - Todd, for being willing to serve when it would be so easy not to, and Angie for being willing to support Todd and start your family without your husband! You two are incredible! We will pray for both of you!
That one got a standing ovation! YAY TODD!!! We are standing with our hands over our hearts and singing the national anthem over here. Okay maybe just figuratively, but still, you've got us feeling very patriotic! A resounding AMEN and we will be thinking of your family! (Again, it's Krista & not Travis.)
We love you, Todd! Thank you for being such a great brother-in-law and taking such great care of Angie. We admire you. We're thankful for your service and sacrifice for our country - and even for other people outside of our country who still need our love and help. We're praying for you, too.
